Copper Canyon

Day 1: Travel to El Fuerte
Transfer to airport for flights to Los Mochis (1 hour time difference)*. Transfer by road (approx. 2 hours) to El Fuerte. Check-in at the hotel and free time for dinner. *Departure times and flight times will be confirmed upon booking flights.

Day 2: El Fuerte, Petroglyphs and the Mayo people
Breakfast.
River-boat ride to see the Petroglyphs of ‘El Cerro de la Máscara’, ceremonial sites once used by indigenous people of the region, dating back to between 800 and 2,500 years ago. Mid-morning tour to the town of Capomos to learn about the indigenous Mayo culture and their traditional dances, followed by lunch (included). Evening walking tour of the colonial town of El Fuerte.

Day 3: El Chepe Train Ride & Learning about the Tarahumara Culture
Breakfast.
Chepe train from El Fuerte, through the spectacular Copper Canyon, to Divisadero, arriving at 3.15 pm (lunch on train, not included). Transfer to hotel, followed by a detailed presentation on the Tarahumara culture, followed by wine-tasting experience.
Dinner included in the hotel.
Accommodation: Barrancas Mirador.

Day 4: Copper Canyon Adventure Park & Tarahumara Cave Dwelling
Breakfast.
Visit famous ‘Parque de Aventura Barrancas del Cobre’ (15-minute transfer) to enjoy spectacular views and take a cable car ride part way into the canyon ($300 pesos per person). Optional extra includes zip lining through canyon (approx. price: $1,000 pesos).
Afternoon guided walk to Tarahumara cave dwelling and viewpoints of the Copper Canyon. Lunch and dinner included in the hotel.

Day 5: Creel, Valley of the Frogs/Mushrooms, and transfer to Chihuahua
Breakfast.
Departure by road to the Valleys of the Frogs and Mushrooms, and the Valley of the Monks (transfer approx. 1 ½ hours). Lunch in the Magic Town of Creel (not included in tour price) and free time to explore.
Afternoon transfer to Chihuahua by road (approximately 4 hours). Free time for dining in Chihuahua (not included in tour price).
Accommodation: Chihuahua

Day 6: Chihuahua City tour
Breakfast.
Tour of Chihuahua’s historic centre, including a visit to Pancho Villa Museum. Lunch & dinner not included.
Accommodation: Chihuahua

Day 7: Return travel
Transfer to Chihuahua airport for flights back to departure airport.*
