Day of the Dead

Day 1 (October 31st): City of Morelia – UNESCO World Heritage Site
7.00 am: Departure to Morelia (approximately 7 hours).
Afternoon arrival to Morelia for check-in at hotel, followed by walking tour through Morelia’s historic centre, and free time for dinner.
Accommodation: Morelia

Day 2 (November 1st): Magic Towns and Day of the Dead Celebrations
Note: we recommend taking a day pack with warm clothes for the evening, as we do not return to the hotel before evening activities.
Breakfast (included) in hotel, followed by departure to the Magic Town of Tzintzuntzan (approximately 1 hour transfer). Explanation of the Yácatas de Tzintzuntzan archaeological site, and free time to explore the town and cemetery of Tzintzuntzan, where you can appreciate the impressive flower arrangements, altars, and offerings as they are put into place for the evening celebrations. Transfer to Pátzcuaro (approximately 30 minutes). Orientation from our guide, followed by free time for lunch and time to enjoy the impressive artisan market and Magic Town of Pátzcuaro.
6 pm: Dinner (not included) in Pátzcuaro and chance to change clothing and rest before evening activities.
8 pm: Travel to the lakeside towns to see the impressive sights of the cemeteries glowing in candle light and the crowds of people celebrating the lives and memories of their lost loved ones. Approximate arrival time to hotel in Morelia: 1 am – dependent on traffic conditions.

Day 3 (November 2nd): Arenal and Tequila
Breakfast in the hotel (included), followed by 9.00 am departure to Arenal, Jalisco (approximately 4 hours); time for lunch (not included), followed by an afternoon tour around El Castillo de Tequila (the Tequila Castle) to learn about the production of Adictivo Tequila.
Afternoon transfer to the Magic Town of Tequila (approximately 40 minutes) for check-in at the hotel and free time for dinner.

Day 4 (November 3rd): Magic Town of Tequila and José Cuervo
Breakfast (included), followed by a 9.30 am walking tour of the Magic Town of Tequila.
Tour of the José Cuervo Tequila distillery, followed by free time for lunch (not included).
3.30 pm: Departure for return travel (approximately 3 ½ hours).
