MEX-ECO TOURS
Copper Canyon
Enjoy the spectacular Copper Canyon on one of the world’s most exciting train rides!
After flying into Los Mochis airport (via Mexico City), we travel to the colonial town of El Fuerte, where you will see petroglyphs of ancient ceremonial sites, and learn about the indigenous Mayo culture and its traditions.
We then begin our journey along the famous Copper Canyon Railway, travelling aboard the Chepe Express for approximately 6 hours through breath-taking scenery, over bridges and through tunnels, until we reach Divisadero. The views don’t stop there! We spend 2 nights in the famous Hotel Barrancas Mirador, where each room has a balcony overlooking the canyon. Activities here include walking to a traditional Tarahumara cave dwelling, more spectacular viewpoints from the Copper Canyon Adventure Park, and optional extras such as a cable car ride into the canyon, zip lining, or the famous Zip Rider (the world’s second longest zip line)!
The final part of this tour takes us via the Magic Town of Creel to see the unique formations of the Valley of the Frogs and Mushrooms, and Valley of the Monks, before continuing to the city of Chihuahua. We spend 2 nights in Chihuahua, including panoramic and walking tours of the city’s historic centre, and a walk through the impressive cave system, Grutas Nombre de Dios.
