Peru
Join Experience Mex-ECO Tours on an international adventure to learn about the rise and fall of the mighty Incan empire in Peru! On this ten day adventure from Mexico to Peru you will witness some of the most awe inspiring landscapes in the world, learn about Peru’s cultures past and present and taste its delicious local cuisine.
The first of many highlights on this trip is a stay in one of the world’s most beautiful colonial cities, Cusco. Led by expert local guides, we learn about this impressive city through visits to the ruins of a great civilization, it’s present day centre and its impressive artisan area. From Cusco we head down into the Sacred Valley to visit the towns of Pisac, Urubamba and Ollantaytambo, before taking the train to Aguas Calientes. The following morning we head out early to visit the lost city of Machu Picchu, one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
From the Sacred Valley of the Incas we take a luxury train through the Andes to Lake Titicaca, the world’s highest navigable lake. Here you can sit back and enjoy a boat ride out to the floating Islands of Uros, where we can appreciate the locals in their traditional colourful dress. You can also appreciate fantastic views of the Lake and more local handicrafts from the Island of Taquile, after a hike up its 500 steps!
For the final leg of this tour, we fly back to Peru’s capital, Lima, for a guided tour of its highlights, before heading back to Mexico.
