Querétaro & Bernal

This tour takes us to the beautiful states of Guanajuato and Querétaro to combine culture and history with the wine and cheese route and shopping in the nation’s leather capital.

On day one of this tour we travel to León, where you can enjoy a guided tour of the historic centre before some free time to shop till you drop. The city boasts impressive architecture and a beautiful plaza, and for the shoppers it offers the best place in Mexico for purchasing leather goods, such as shoes, belts and jackets.

Day two of our trip takes us to the UNESCO World Heritage site that is the centre of the city of Santiago de Querétaro, known simply as Querétaro. Here you will learn about the history of the city and have time to explore its beautiful centre, filled with colonial mansions, immaculate pedestrian walkways and colonial plazas. Querétaro is also a centre for opal, amethyst and topaz cutting.

On days three and four of this tour we take a journey along the wine and cheese route, where we learn about the production of artisan cheeses and two of the most renowned wine producers in the region.  We also visit the quaint town of Tequisquiapan and the colonial village of San Sebastián Bernal, renowned for being home to the third highest rock on the planet.
